hawaii, as promised

In April 2009 my Grandpa Erickson passed away. He was a wise, hard-working, clever man. He left behind a small fortune which was divided 'tween his six children, and this is what my amazing father did with his share:

trying to surf... didn't go so well (curse you castles. and thank you carrie for letting us borrow the boards.)
I allowed my husband to throw himself out of a plane.
visited the Laie Temple (although due to renovations we couldn't go in)
boogie boarded our hearts out
jumped off cliffs
ate some shrimp and much other good foods
sat on the beach and watched the giant waves (also watched blake and max get worked).ate like kings at the PCC luau

visited the Haliewa farmers market for freshly made mango salsa!

the dole plantation, a crazy trip to costco, many hours chilling with the family I love, taking advantage of the time change (bed at 10, waking up at 8), a wonderful day immersed in culture at the Polynesian Cultural Center:
I love my family and I love Hawaii. Thanks for sharing, mom and dad.

  2. I am so jealous right now. We bought a boat with our grandpa's money. But we didn't go boating in Hawaii. Lucky dogs!

Jess, how did you combine all those pictures into one like that? I have been trying to figure it out on my computer. Oh crap I have a Mac and you probably can't help me, PC lady.
